Caltrans Project Update: Minimal Delays This Week as Main Street Renovation Continues

On Thursday night crews poured sidewalks in front of the Elk’s Lodge at the top of Main Street

The California Department of Transportation continues with its Main Street renovation project this week, with work planned from 8:00p.m. Sunday, July 28th until 8:00 Friday morning.

According to this week’s update from Caltrans, crews have completed curb, gutter and sidewalk at various locations along Main Street. Crews also completed electrical work.

Between Sunday and Friday drivers on Susanville’s Main Street can expect minimal delays with one lane open in each direction as more curb, gutter and sidewalk work is finished.

Additional grinding work will be performed in uptown this week. On Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 8:00p.m. until 8:00a.m. there will be one-way traffic control with flaggers and 15-minute delays.

Also this week, loop detectors are being installed at various locations.

Paving on Main Street is scheduled to resume on August 12th. Caltrans is currently waiting for the redesign of the Weatherlow ADA ramps to be finalized.
