The California Department of Transportation continues with its Main Street renovation project this week, with work planned from Sunday, June 30th until Wednesday, when crews will take a break for the Independence Day holiday.
According to this week’s update from Caltrans, crews have completed demolition of the various curb ramps; poured curb, gutters, sidewalks and valley gutters at various locations; milled existing pavement surfaces; did additional corrective milling for grade corrections and additional asphalt repairs to wheel-ruts and failing asphalt sections.
Between Sunday and Wednesday drivers on Susanville’s Main Street can expect single-lane traffic control with flaggers and up to 15 minute delays.
Crews will be making changes to the curb ramps and bulb-outs at Weatherlow along with curb ramp work in various downtown locations which will only lead to minimal delays and one lane open in each direction.
Additional grinding work may be required this week and paving of the milled surface will continue working towards the west through downtown.
Work not requiring traffic control may occur during daytime hours.
After the Fourth of July break, work will resume at 8:00p.m., on July 7th.
