Family caregivers in the Susanville area are invited to attend a free educational event, Caregiving 101, designed to provide practical support and essential skills for those looking after loved ones. This upcoming workshop will take place on Tuesday, March 10th, at Northeastern Rural Health Clinic located at 1850 Spring Ridge Drive.
The main session runs from 2:00p.m. to 3:00p.m., where attendees can learn a variety of helpful techniques including safe transferring methods, effective communication strategies, and tips for staying organized.
The presentation will also cover vital topics like time management, stress reduction, problem-solving, and the proper use of assistive devices to make daily tasks easier for both the caregiver and the recipient.
Stay for the Support Group
Following the workshop, the regularly scheduled caregiver support group will meet from 3:00p.m. to 4:00p.m., offering a space for participants to connect and share experiences. Free resource materials will be provided to all who attend to ensure you have the tools you need even after the session concludes.
This valuable community event is offered by the PSA2 Area Agency on Aging and is funded by a grant through the California Department of Aging.
