The Susanville Police Department is investigating an armed robbery which occurred early Friday at a motel on Susanville’s Main Street. According to details released by the department this morning the suspect, who was masked at the time of the robbery, fled the scene after receiving cash from a motel employee.
At around 2:30 Friday morning officers from the Susanville Police Department responded to the Best Western Motel and contacted a motel employee who reported that he was working the front desk when confronted by a male subject who was armed with a handgun and demanding money.
“According to the motel employee,” explained Police Lieutenant Matt Wood, “the suspect was described as a white male, 5’9” tall with a thin build. The suspect was wearing a mask at the time of the robbery. Upon receiving cash from the employee, the suspect fled on foot.”
The police department is actively investigating this case and following up on any leads.
