Lassen County 4-H Clubs will be celebrating their centennial birthday this summer at the Lassen County Fair. Individual clubs will be joining together to plan our float for the fair parade as well as several activities throughout the fair.
The fair will host a 4-H scavenger/treasure hunt throughout the fairgrounds daily and have special activities on kiddies’ day, Thursday July 18th.
Also featured in Jensen Hall will be a 4-H history wall. The 4-H building will showcase individual 4-H exhibits including photography, clothing, cooking, educational displays, as well as club feature booths.
On Saturday there will be a culminating ceremony in the livestock pavilion at 1:00p.m. Outstanding leaders and sponsors of the 4-H program will be honored.
In addition there will be two 5’x 5’ Clovers that will feature what 4-H has meant to individuals from the past to present.
This celebration promises to be a memorable time, however we need help! We are looking for names and addresses of alumni to be invited. Also if you have 4-H pictures or memorabilia from Lassen County 4-H that we could borrow for our displays we would appreciate you contacting Darcy Hanson at the 4-H Office at 707 Nevada Street in Susanville, (530 251-8285.
Thank you in advance for helping us make California 4-H’s 100th birthday special here in Lassen County.
