Lassen County Chamber of Commerce Weekly Update
by Patti Hagata, Executive Director
Lassen County Chamber of Commerce Update for week of December 25, 2012
Written by Ed Swayze, Chamber President 2012
Hard to believe this year is coming to an end already. It has been a busy year for the Chamber; one event seemed to turn into another with no rest in between. A big thank you to Patti and Lisa for all they do day- to-day and putting together the monthly Chamber mixers and activities.
The Chamber took on a very big endeavor this year by manning the Beer Garden at the fair. This was a lot of work but turned out to be a very good fundraiser. Thanks to the committee and the many volunteers who put so many hours into this fundraiser.
All of the events the Chamber put on take many volunteers, all of whom have other jobs, families, and commitments, but they still take the time to put a lot of hours into planning and coordinating these events. A big thank you goes out to all of the Chamber board members, committee chairpersons, and volunteers.
This has been a tumultuous year for our local businesses. Although a few were unable to hang on, there are still new businesses moving into the empty buildings and growth is still happening in small steps. If Lassen County and the business community can continue to come together and support each other this growth will continue.
I would like to take one final moment to thank the Chamber board and staff for all your hard work and support. This has been an enjoyable year as President and I am looking forward to supporting the new Executive Board.
From all of us at the Lassen County Chamber of Commerce we wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
