Make plans to attend the final mixer of the year that will be hosted by Plumas Bank on Thursday, December 6th, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, located at 3000 Riverside Drive, Susanville. The staff at Plumas Bank is planning a fun filled evening featuring delicious food, no-host bar and holiday atmosphere to mingle with friends and business associates. The staff at Plumas Bank welcomes everyone to stop by and to bring a friend to join in as we gather to celebrate the Christmas season.
The 7th Annual Magical Country Christmas Celebration will be held on Saturday, December 8th, 5-7pm, in Historic Uptown Susanville. The event will feature dance and musical performances beginning at 5pm, “Santa’s Grand Entrance” Christmas parade that is scheduled to begin at 6pm, food and beverage vendors, fireworks and tree lighting planned to take place around 6:30pm. Main Street will be closed to thru traffic during the celebration. Due to a scheduling conflict the Elk’s Lodge will not be open to the public because of a private party and the “Toys for Tots” drive will be taking place at McDonald’s. Area businesses will be open late for shopping during the celebration. This is a fun filled event for the whole family so plan to come up to Historic Uptown Susanville and enjoy the celebration.
The Chamber has ordered a limited quantity of 2013 Labor Law Posters that feature both the federal and state labor laws on one poster. They are for sale to Chamber members for $25.00 per poster or non-member for $35.00 per poster. California employers and businesses are required to post updated employment posters at each place of business. Pre-orders are now being taken from businesses interested in having a poster reserved. The Labor Law posters are due to arrive by mid December. Contact the Chamber office staff at 257-4323 if you would like to have a poster reserved.
The Chamber board of directors is accepting applications to fill several board vacancies. Chamber members interested in representing the business community and sharing their time and talents by serving on the board are encouraged to apply. The Board is seeking candidates who have business experience, community involvement, and the desire to represent the interests of the local business community.
