Bring your children, 12 years and younger, to enjoy the Historic Uptown Susanville Association’s Annual “Safe & Sane Halloween” on Wednesday, October 31, 2012, from 3pm to 5pm. Historic Uptown Susanville will be closed to thru traffic for safe passage of all the ghosts and goblins that attend the annual event. Enjoy a fun filled afternoon of treat-or-treating from store to store, musical presentations, and an art contest sponsored by the Lassen County Arts Council. The Chamber board of directors is accepting applications to fill several board vacancies. Chamber members interested in representing the business community and sharing their time and talents by serving on the board are encouraged to apply. The Board is seeking a candidate who has business experience, community involvement, and the desire to represent the interests of the local business community. Stop by the Chamber office, or call 257-4323 to receive an application to apply for the vacancy.
The Chamber will be ordering 2013 Labor Law Posters. The posters will be available for sale to Chamber members for $25.00 per poster/ or non-member for $35.00 per poster. The poster contains the mandatory notices that must be posted at each work place.Californiaemployers and businesses are required to post updated employment posters at each place of business. Pre-orders are now being taken from businesses interested in having the required poster reserved. The 2013 all-in-oneCaliforniaand Federal Labor Law posters will arrive by mid December. Contact the Chamber office staff at 257-4323 if you would like to have a poster ordered for your business.
The Christmas Event Committee have been busy making plans for the Annual “Magical Country Christmas Celebration” that will be held on Saturday, December 1st, from5-7pm in Historic Uptown Susanville. Parade applications are now available at the Chamber office to enter “Santa’s Grand Entrance” parade. The celebration will also feature dance and musical performances, as well as the Christmas parade, food, “Toys for Tots” drive, and fireworks to ring in the Christmas season! This is a fun filled event for the whole family so mark your calendar to attend.
