Make plans to join us as we welcome the fall hunting season at the Thursday, October 4th, Chamber Mixer that will be held at Honey Lake Firearms and will be co-hosted by Customer Talk. The evening mixer will be held from 5:30 to 7:30pm, at Honey Lake Firearms 600 Main Street, in Historic Uptown Susanville and will include no-host bar, a delicious BBQ, a chance to win a gun, and Customer Talk will help attendees in making a custom t-shirt. Everyone is welcomed; you do not need to be a Chamber member to attend and we encourage you to bring a friend.
Due to other obligations, Fred Nagel has submitted his resigned from the board of directors. The Chamber extends our thanks for his service during his time on the Chamber Board. The board of directors is now accepting applications to fill the board vacancy; the term will expire in December 2014. Chamber members interested in representing the business community and sharing their time and talents by serving on the board are encouraged to apply. The Board is seeking a candidate who has business experience, community involvement, and the desire to represent the interests of the local business community.
Stop by the Chamber office, or call to receive an application to apply for the vacancy. The deadline to return an application to the Chamber office is Monday, November 5, 2012. A selection to fill the board vacancy will be made at the November 8th board meeting.
Due to the Chips Fire, Plumas County was declared a disaster zone and received a declaration for Economic Injury Disaster Loan Assistance from the SBA. This declaration also makes the assistance available to surrounding counties, including Lassen. The US Small Business Administration (SBA) is making low-interest working capital federal loans available to small businesses impacted by the Chips Fire.
