Susanville California is one of 50 small towns in rural America to have been selected as a quarterfinalist in the $10 million ‘America’s Best Communities’ competition, and the only community selected from California. Each community has been awarded $50,000 to further develop comprehensive revitalization plans.
The Lassen County Chamber of Commerce has hired the CFA consulting firm from Reno, Nevada to assist with the development of the revitalization plans. The Lassen County Chamber of Commerce is asking community residents and visitors alike to participate in an online judging of early-stage visual renderings created by CFA representing Susanville’s Main Street.
The 5-minute survey will capture respondent insight related to the revitalization plan’s visual renderings representing a potential desired-state of Susanville’s Main Street.  The survey will be open to receive responses through Tuesday, September 22nd. The survey may be accessed via the Lassen County Chamber of Commerce’s website www.lassencountychamber.org or individuals may email [email protected] to receive the survey link.
The visual renderings will also be on display at the Symphony on the Green event on September 26, 2015. The event will be held at the Old Court House on South Lassen Street from 4-6pm.
It is the goal of the Lassen County Chamber of Commerce to receive 500 survey completions, which will help Susanville advance to the next round in America’s Best Communities contest.
The 50 quarterfinalist communities have until November 6, 2015 to refine, sharpen and submit their comprehensive plans to be considered for additional investment, working with their sponsor company on improving their plans and implementation.
