CHP Arrests Carson City Woman for Chester Area Vehicle Theft

The California Highway Patrol arrested a Carson City woman on vehicle theft charges after she reportedly took a 1989 Nissan from the Chester area on June 25th.

According to a report released by the Susanville office of the California Highway Patrol, the agency’s dispatch center received a report that a pickup that had been stolen from in front of the True Value Hardware Store in Chester.

The pickup, a light blue 1989 Nissan Hardbody, was reported to have left the scene eastbound on SR-36.

Shortly thereafter the vehicle was spotted traveling eastbound from Fredonyer summit by a CHP unit.

The vehicle was stopped on Highway 36 at Willard Creek Road and the driver, identified by the CHP as 30-year old Carson City resident Gabriella Rebecca Artega, was taken into custody for vehicle theft and additional charges.

The CHP was assisted at the scene by the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office.
