Two people were arrested on March 1st, after CHP officers responded to a reported domestic violence incident that occurred on Highway 395 near Doyle.
At around 3:14p.m., according to the CHP incident report, Susanville CHP Dispatch advised of a report that a male was striking a female along the shoulder of the highway.
Officers from the Susanville CHP office responded to the scene, arriving to find a man seated in the driver’s seat of a vehicle stopped in the area along the shoulder. The female party had been picked up by witnesses who stopped to offer assistance.
“During the course of the investigation, officers learned a domestic violence incident had occurred between the male and the female,” explains CHP Public Information Officer Bruce Thuelchassaigne.
“The male had also been driving under the influence of alcohol prior to stopping along the shoulder and had significant injuries to his face.”
After gathering statements from both parties and witnesses on scene, the woman was arrested for Felony domestic violence – 273.5(a) PC. The driver was arrested for 23152(a) VC-DUI and 243(e)(1) PC – Misdemeanor domestic violence.
