CHP: Doyle Man Dies in Early Morning Highway 395 Collision

chpincidentA 55 year-old Doyle man was pronounced dead at the scene, and a Reno resident was taken by air ambulance to Renown Medical, after an early morning head-on collision just north of South Constantia Road on US Highway 395.

According to details released by the California Highway Patrol 50 year-old Reno resident Lori Louise Sablan was driving her Honda CR-V northbound in the southbound lane while passing an uninvolved vehicle in foggy conditions.

A 1997 Toyota Camry, driven by a 55 year-old Doyle resident, was travelling the opposite direction in the southbound lane and was struck head-on by Sablan’s vehicle.

Sablan was transported to Renown Medical with serious injuries. The Doyle man was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.

The name of the victim will be released after next of kin has been notified, at which point the Sheriff Coroner’s office will provide the information.
