A Westwood woman was killed early Thursday morning in a single vehicle traffic collision on Highway 36 east of Fredonyer pass.
According to details released by the Susanville office of the California Highway Patrol, the 55-year old woman, identified as Tina Jordan-Tranique, was driving her 2006 Chevy Malibu eastbound near the Roxie Peconom turn-off when, for an unknown reason, she allowed the vehicle to drift to the right and onto the dirt shoulder.
The Chevy Malibu then swerved back to the left, across both lanes of traffic, onto the left shoulder and overturned several times before coming to rest on the car’s left side.
As a result of the collision Tranique suffered fatal injuries. An investigation into the cause of the accident is still pending.
