A British Columbia man walked away unhurt after the semi-truck he was driving, along with a 53-foot trailer, overturned on a curve in Litchfield Friday afternoon.
At about 3:25, according to a report released by the Susanville office of the California Highway Patrol, the semi-truck was traveling northbound on Highway 395 driven by a man identified as 33-year old Abbotsford, BC resident Meant Singh Brar.
While entering the curve in front of the old feed store, the driver lost control and the truck and trailer began to skid to the right and then overturned onto its right side, coming to rest partially within the northbound lane and partially on the east shoulder.
The driver was wearing his seatbelt and was uninjured in the collision. No other vehicles or persons were involved.
The trailer was fully loaded with dry goods but none of the commodities were spilled.
The highway was closed for the vehicle recovery and traffic was diverted temporarily onto Center Road and Cut-Off Road. The CHP’s investigation is ongoing.
