The California Highway Patrol’s Susanville office has released details of an unusual incident that took place in Chester on Friday, and sent an Orland woman to Enloe Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.

According to the report, on June 22nd shortly after 3:00p.m., a woman identified by CHP as Lolita Virginia Burd, jumped from a moving vehicle on Chester Warner Valley Road, around 9 miles from Drakesbad.

The report indicates that the passenger appeared to have been drinking alcohol prior to the incident.

She sustained a broken left ankle, abrasions and a laceration to her head as a result of impacting the roadway surface.

After realizing what had occurred the driver of the vehicle stopped to help the passenger, who CHP said was his girlfriend of seven years.
