CHP Incident: Single-Vehicle Collision on Forest Service Road Results in Moderate Injuries

A single-vehicle collision that occurred Friday on Forest Service Road 22, about 11-miles north of County Road A-1, resulted in moderate injuries for the driver, who was transported to Banner Lassen Medical Center.

According to the report a man identified by the Susanville CHP office as 76-year old Stanley Gray was driving his U.S. Forest Service Chevrolet pickup on the back-country road at an unknown speed.

At around 3:30 he allowed his vehicle to leave the main traveled portion of the roadway and it collided with a tree.

“Gray was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision and sustained moderate injuries,” explains the CHP report.

He was transported to Banner Lassen Medical Center for treatment. No other occupants were in the vehicle at the time of the collision.

“The CHP would like to remind everyone to always buckle up when traveling in a vehicle.”
