The Susanville office of the California Highway Patrol has release details of a Wednesday afternoon foot pursuit in Doyle that lead to the arrest of a Susanville man on multiple charges including possession of a pickup which had been stolen from Limonera Avenue in Susanville earlier that morning.
According to the CHP, shortly before 1:00p.m. Wednesday an officer observed a 2005 Nissan Titan pickup that had been reported stolen traveling southbound on Highway 395 within Long Valley, south of Doyle.
While attempting to overtake the vehicle it fled on Highway 395 to Constantia Road before returning to the highway.
The vehicle was abandoned in Long Valley and the subject, identified by the CHP as 40 year-old Susanville resident Brent Ryan Horton Jones, fled on foot into the adjacent fields. The subject was pursued across the field and with the assistance of responding units was taken into custody near Constantia Road, north of Hall Road.
Jones was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of stolen property, DUI, possession of burglary tools, resisting arrest, probation violation, possession of marijuana, reckless driving and driving on a suspended license. He was booked into the Lassen County Jail.
