The California Highway Patrol reports that a bicyclist, 72 year-old Jerry Douglass of Susanville, was traveling westbound on Center Road with several other bicycles as Palmdale, California resident Bridgette Evans was traveling westbound, approaching the bicyclists and moving into the oncoming lane to pass the group on the left.

According to the Highway Patrol Douglass swerved to the left as Evans began to pass his bicycle and collided with the right side of her vehicle. Douglass was ejected from the bicycle onto the roadway, receiving moderate injuries. He was transported to Renown Medical Center in Reno.
