City Requesting Engineering Proposals for Grant-Funded Crossroads Food Storage Project

The City of Susanville is requesting proposals from qualified professional engineering firms to provide assessment, plans, and product specifications sufficient to bid for the installation of a Walk-In Freezer at Crossroads Ministries, in Susanville.

The project’s exact location inside the building will be decided at a later point. The freezer shall not exceed five hundred cubic feet or a project cost of more than $16,500.

Crossroads Ministries is operated by Spare a Dime Inc.

“The RFP is to seek a qualified engineer to design the project so we can purchase a large food storage freezer for Crossroads and make sure it fits, works and can be input into the space,” explains Jolene Arredondo, Assistant to City Administrator Dan Newton.

Funding comes through the California Housing and Urban Development’s Coronavirus grant mechanism.

“We applied for three different activities and this activity is to support Crossroads food storage! The grant itself is a great community connection utilizing coronavirus relief funding provided by CDBG that has a nexus between community housing and coronavirus relief.”

All proposals must be received by the City of Susanville by 4:00p.m. on September 26th, 2022.
