City Sets June 21st as Date for Town Clean-Up Day

citycleanupdayJust in time to get the town looking spiffy for the Main Cruise and other summer events the City of Susanville will be sponsoring a Clean-Up Day on June 21st.

The Clean-up Day, organized by the Susanville City Fire Department will start at 7:30a.m., and those interested in participating are asked to meet at Memorial Park where assignments will be handed out.

Clean-up work begins at 8:00 and ends at noon, when volunteers will be served lunch at Memorial Park.

The Lassen Regional Solid Waste Management Authority and City of Susanville will provide clean-up tools and equipment, but are also asking that participants bring gloves, safety glasses, shovels, rakes, power blowers, weed eaters, other garden equipment and pick-up trucks for hauling.

Specific clean-up areas are being designated, with other areas of interest to be cleaned depending on support for the event.

Community organizations, groups, businesses and individuals are all welcome to join in on the day.

Organizations, groups and businesses can pre-schedule assignments or get more information by calling Ted at 257-5152 after June 10th, between 8:00a.m. and 5:00p.m., Monday through Friday.
