The students in Lassen Community College’s Nursing Program are busy with both studies and community activities as the fall semester gets into full swing, marking the beginning of a new journey for one group of students and the final lap for another.
A Fresh Start for Future LVNs
LCC Nursing has welcomed a brand-new Licensed Vocational Nurse cohort this semester. These students are diving straight into the core principles of patient care, beginning the rigorous process of building the essential foundation for their future nursing careers.

RN Students Approach the Finish Line
Meanwhile, the college’s Registered Nurse students have hit a major milestone: they are now in their fourth and final semester. After semesters of dedication and perseverance, this group is on the cusp of graduation and soon to be registered nurses ready to enter the workforce.

Nurses Active on Campus and in the Community
Beyond the classroom and clinical settings, LCC Nursing students are actively engaged in campus life and community service.
On campus, they have been visible participants in several key events, including PJammin for Kids with Cancer Day, the Suicide Prevention Awareness Walk, and Transfer Week. They’ve also been seen enjoying the lighter side of campus life at “Bagel Thursdays with Cody the Cougar.“
Their dedication extends into the wider community, where students have volunteered their time at the Courage Triathlon and participated in the somber 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony. Looking ahead, the students are currently organizing a Health Fair that will be held on campus this October, promising to provide valuable health resources to the community.
The busy start to the semester highlights the commitment of Lassen College Nursing students not just to their studies, but to their community and to becoming well-rounded healthcare professionals.
