Lassen Family Services Budgeting Class is held the first three Mondays of the month from 4:00 – 5:00p.m., at Lassen Family Services. Northeastern Rural Health Free Monthly Diabetes Classes 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., 1850 Spring Ridge Dr, Susanville. Learn how to manage diabetes and reduce health risks. Everyone is welcome. To sign up for an individual counseling session call Debbie Jones, Health Educator 530.251.1490. Meets monthly on the third Tuesday of the month.

Lassen County Board of Supervisors Meeting 9:00a.m., 707 Nevada Street. Supervisors meet on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Tuesday of the month.

St. Paul’s is inviting you to attend their weekly Bible Study Classes every Wednesday. The classes begin at 6:00 pm at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on 105 Ash St. Everyone is welcome to participate in these free studies that inspire, encourage, and provide opportunities for a more positive life journey. They would love to see you there!

Lassen Family Services Interactive Journaling class is held weekly at 11:00a.m., at Lassen Family Services 1306 Riverside Drive. All classes are FREE and rotate through journaling booklets. Contact 530.257.4599 for more information or to enroll.

Friday and Saturday, August 23 and 24
Hidden Woods Music Festival at the Lassen County Fairgrounds. The festival features Main Stage performances by Kaleo, The Fray, Lit, Hinder, Secondhand Serenade, and The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. The overall lineup has four global #1 hits, two Grammy nominations, a Billboard Music award, and multiple platinum certifications. Along with the amazing lineup of top artists the festival will also feature local live music and games during the day, on-site camping for festivalgoers, food and merch vendors, an after party, and the World’s Smallest Bar Crawl. On Friday the Festival opens at 3:00p.m. with cool vendors throughout the fairgrounds. The concert venue opens at 4:00. Secondhand Serenade takes the stage at 5:00, Lit at 6:30 and The Fray at 8:30. Saturday the festival, filled with vendors, opens at 11:00 with cornhole and horseshoe tournaments at noon. Registration for the tournaments and The World’s Smallest Bar Crawl start at 11:00. Saturday afternoon, beginning at 12:30 there will be live music on the Canopy Stage with Huckleberry Road and Ikana. Day two of the festival heats up at 5:00 with a performance by Red Jump Suit Apparatus, followed by Hinder at 6:30 and KALEO at 8:30. Each night there will be an after party at The Hollow featuring live music and a DJ from 10:00 to 2:00a.m.

Friday, August 23
Susanville United Methodist HOPE Food Pantry operates out of the Social Hall (on Cottage Street) at Susanville United Methodist Church. The food pantry is open every Friday from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. You do not need to bring any ID or proof of employment or residency with you. The wide variety of food items changes weekly and often includes produce and dairy. The volunteers will sign you in and give you a list of what food is available so you can select what you want. Lassen Family Services Parenting Education Classes are held every Friday at Lassen Family Services. Love and Logic is from 9:00 – 10:00a.m. 24/7 Dad Program is from 10:00 – 11:00a.m. and Co-parenting is from 11:00 – 12:00p.m.

Sunday, August 25
St. Paul’s Lutheran Church invites you to ‘Sunday Coffee Hour’. It takes place at 105 Ash St. in Susanville. Coffee hour starts at 11:00 am following church services at 10:00 am. Everyone is invited and it is free. Please come and join them for some refreshments, good coffee, and to spend some time meeting people!
