Community to Rally Around Hemphill Family at Drive-Thru Fundraiser Dinner

Friends and neighbors are invited to a special fundraiser to support the Hemphill family, who recently suffered devastating losses in a fire on their property. The community is encouraged to attend a drive-thru Tri-Tip dinner with award-winning Alley Cat Chili and dinner rolls, hosted by Lassen County District 5 Supervisor Jason Ingram and Chief Jimmy Uruburu.

The fundraiser will be held this Saturday, September 6th, from 4:00 to 7:00p.m. at the Susan River Firehouse, located at 705-145 Hwy 395E. The cost is $15 a plate, with all proceeds directly benefiting Jeff, Nancy, and Abbie Hemphill.

“The Hemphills have given so much to Lassen County over the years,” said Supervisor Jason Ingram. “Now it’s our turn to rally around them.”

Ingram adds that the fire resulted in devastating losses, including Nancy’s vehicle and Fran Hemphill’s home.”

Ingram and Uruburu are hosting the event to assist the family in their recovery. Every dollar raised from the dinner will go directly to the Hemphill family. The fundraiser is cash-only, but for those unable to attend, donations can also be made directly to Nancy Hemphill’s Venmo at @nancy-hemphill-4.

“We’ll see you all there,” said Ingram, “as we come together as a community in a huge show of support for the Hemphill family, and be there for them the way they’ve always been there for us.”
