The Lassen County Sheriff’s Department has released the names of the victims in two separate collisions that occurred Wednesday on Highway 395; an early morning collision that left a Doyle man dead and another accident near the Johnstonville Dump Road that killed two drivers.
Collision Near Constantia Road on HWY 395
At around 7:30a.m., on December 18th, the Lassen County Sheriff’s Department responded to a vehicle collision on U.S. 395 near Constantia Road. Deputies arrived at the accident site to find two vehicles had crashed head-on. See earlier story here.
55 year-old Doyle resident Alejandro Ramirez was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the vehicle accident. The Susanville area California Highway Patrol is investigating this collision.
Collision on Bass Hill near the Johnstonville Dump Road
Members of the Lassen County Sheriff/Coroner’s Office responded to a traffic accident involving fatalities on U.S. 395 at Bass Hill at around 5:30 Wednesday evening. It was discovered a two-car collision had taken place on the highway and that neither driver had survived the wreck. See earlier story here.
“It is with incredible sadness we report the deaths of Lassen County resident Linda Meadows, 66 and Modoc County resident Albertina Callahan, 68,” said Sheriff’s Sargent Kevin Jones this morning. Meadows and Callahan were the sole occupants of their vehicles during the collision, which is under investigation by the Susanville Area California Highway Patrol.
Sergeant Jones said, “Our thoughts and prayers are with all the families and friends affected by the impacts of this day’s events.”
