In a brief message released late Thursday afternoon the County of Lassen announced an agreement had been reached between the county and former Lassen CAO Tom Stone.
“The case of Stone v. Lassen County, et.al. has been settled for the sum of $350,000. with each side bearing its own costs and attorney fees.”
“The parties decided to settle the case in an effort to avoid the substantial expense associated with prosecuting and defending this matter.”
“The County specifically denies it was liable to Mr. Stone and did not admit liability as part of this settlement.”
According to the document the settlement proceeds will be paid by the county’s insurers, Trindel Insurance Fund and the CSAC-EIA.
