COVID-19 Update: Lassen County Hits 155 Active Cases as Infections Increase Dramatically

As of September 1st, at 7:00a.m., here are COVID-19 statistics being reported by local health officials.

Lassen County’s Public Health Department is reporting 155-active cases in the county with 7 people currently hospitalized. Twenty-five deaths have now been attributed to the infection and so far there have been a total of 2,681 cases reported. The county is reporting 67 new cases this morning.

So far 7,570 doses of the vaccine have been administered. This number does not include Banner or CDCR vaccinations according to the health department.

The county also notes that “11% – Positives Fully Vaccinated” without offering an explanation of that metric.

Infections at Local Prisons

As of August 27th, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation is reporting 16-active cases among staff at CCC and 36-active cases at High Desert.

The CDCR is reporting 1 active case of COVID-19 among the inmate population at High Desert State Prison.

The number of infections at the California Correctional Center is now at 13. You can follow this link to CDCR’s inmate population tracker.

FCI Herlong is reporting no active cases.
