Lassen County students, from 3rd to 12th grade, are invited to enter the Lassen County Office of Education’s “Turning Points in History” essay contest.
There are cash prizes at stake in two different age groups, 5 through 8 and 9 to 12. First place winners in each age group take home a $50 gift card, 2nd place gets a $25 card and third gets $15.
Essays must be 500 words or less and topic ideas include, but aren’t limited to, sports, technology, science, medicine, education, food, business, fashion, music, art industry, and current events.
All entries must be essays, typed in black ink, Arial or Times New Roman, 12-point font (no colors) with no italics or fancy script.
Essays should be double-spaced on one side of the paper with no pictures, illustrations, cover or binder.
The deadline to enter is March 22nd, by 4:30p.m., and essays must be handed into the Office of Education at 472-013 Johnstonville Rd.
The essay contest is sponsored by the Lassen County Board of Education, the Lassen County Office of Education and Patricia Gunderson, Lassen County Superintendent of Schools.
