Deputies Arrest Susanville Man After Pursuit Through Town

sheriffupdateThe Lassen County Sheriff’s Office has released details of a pursuit which began at Leavitt Lake Wednesday evening and ended on South Lassen Street when the suspect bailed out of the car and fled on foot.

The chase began after Sheriff’s Deputies contacted two individuals near the Leavitt Lake market to investigate possible theft from a vehicle parked near the store.

One of those subjects, identified by the LCSO as 21 year-old Susanville resident Corey Cutler, refused to comply with the Deputy’s directions and fled the scene in  a small sedan.

According to Captain Matt McFarland the deputies pursued the vehicle towards and into the city limits of Susanville. Cutler was apprehended on South Lassen Street after he abandoned his vehicle and attempted to flee on foot.

Cutler was booked into the Lassen County Jail and charged with operating a motor vehicle without a license, delaying a peace officer in the performance of their duty and evasion. He is being held and bail is set at $25,000.
