The holiday season has arrived, and despite the inclement weather, the Lassen County Chamber of Commerce is still hosting their annual Magical Country Christmas Celebration this evening, December 3rd, in historic uptown Susanville starting right now on Main Street, which will be closed to traffic for the event.

At 6:00p.m. the Magical Country Christmas parade will start, with floats, dancers and participants moving up Main Street to the tree in front of the Elk’s Lodge. The big finale of the parade will be the arrival of Santa, the lighting of the tree and fireworks!

Holiday revelers at the uptown celebration will also get to enjoy live holiday music performances and dancing.

Uptown businesses will be open late, and vendors will line the streets with food, beverages, and custom gifts to help with your Christmas shopping.

Toys for Tots will also be in uptown from 4:00p.m., until after the tree lighting, to collect new and unwrapped toys for local children.

The chamber’s yearly Christmas party has become tradition in Susanville, with nearly two thousand people expected to show up to help welcome Santa to town.

There will also be food, drink and plenty of hot chocolate and warm beverages to help warm you up.
