Diamond View Middle School Celebrates 2026 House Championship Winners

After a year filled with teamwork, school spirit, leadership, and friendly competition, Diamond View Middle School has officially crowned House Altruismo, the House of Givers, as the 2026 House Champions.

According to Diamond View Principal Dede Heimbigner, the final House Points were tallied last week, bringing the schoolwide total to an impressive 18,582 House Points earned across all four houses during the 2025–2026 school year.

Final House Standings:

  • Altruismo – 5,151 points
  • Amistad – 4,794 points
  • Isibindi – 4,403 points
  • Rêveur – 4,234 points

Heimbigner explained that Diamond View’s House System is built around the core values of the Susanville School District: Cooperation, Accountability, Learning, Integrity, Respect, and Excellence.

Throughout the school year, students earn individual points by demonstrating positive behavior, leadership, academic effort, participation, kindness, and school spirit. Houses also earn collective points through rallies, classroom challenges, campus events, competitions and schoolwide activities.

Students are able to redeem their individual points throughout the year at the Diamond View House Store, something that Heimbigner notes has become a highly anticipated by students.

Diamond View Middle School extended its appreciation to the staff for their continued commitment to this work. Heimbigner said their daily encouragement, consistency, and willingness to recognize students for positive choices have helped the House System grow into an important part of the school’s culture.

Heimbigner also recognized and thanked the dedicated House Parents who volunteered countless hours organizing and operating the school store throughout the year, stating that their support, organization and enthusiasm helped make the House System a meaningful and exciting experience for students.

“While Altruismo claimed this year’s championship title, all four houses demonstrated incredible pride, perseverance, and commitment throughout the year,” said Principal Heimbigner. “The House System continues to build connection, leadership and positive culture across our campus.”

Heimbigner congratulated Altruismo on their championship victory and applauded Amistad, Isibindi and Rêveur for an outstanding year of competition and school pride.
