Diamond View Welcoming Students Back with a “Fence Full of Good Vibes”

Diamond View School is inviting the entire community to participate in a unique and uplifting campaign to welcome students back for the new school year. The school’s “A Fence Full of Good Vibes” initiative encourages parents, staff, neighbors and community members to create a powerful display of support for local youth.

Community members are asked to bring a ribbon of any color or style down to the school’s front fence at 850 Richmond Road. The ribbon can be tied to the fence any time before August 21st.

Participants can also write a short message of encouragement for a student, a staff member, or simply a general good wish for the year ahead.

Leaving a blank ribbon is also an option, as “the gesture alone says a lot,” according to school officials.

“This is a simple but powerful show of support for our students,” said Principal Dede Heimbigner.

“Whether you’re a friend, parent, staff member, neighbor, or part of a local organization, your ribbon helps send one message loud and clear to our young adolescents in this community: ‘We’re rooting for you!'”

The school year is set to begin with a focus on “connection, encouragement, and community.” The ribbons will remain on display through the month of September, with the school noting that “every ribbon adds to the energy.”

The community is also invited to share their participation on social media by snapping a photo and tagging the school on Instagram at @diamondviewmiddleschool.

The school encourages everyone to “start the school year with connection, encouragement, and community.”
