Dirt Bike Rider Arrested After High-Speed Pursuit and Foot Bail

A Doyle man was taken into custody late Monday night following a high-speed pursuit on US-395 that ended on foot in a residential neighborhood.

According to details released by the California Highway Patrol’s Susanville office, an officer observed a motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on US-395 on July 27th. When the officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the rider refused to yield, triggering a lengthy vehicular pursuit.

The chase came to an end when the rider abandoned his motorcycle in a residential area and fled on foot. Susanville CHP officers quickly established a perimeter, successfully locating the suspect and taking him into custody without further incident.

The driver, identified as a 21-year-old resident of Doyle, was arrested on felony evading charges. The driver’s name was not released by the CHP.

The CHP expressed its appreciation to the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance during the incident.
