Our resident meteorological expert, Dr. Owen Bateson, checks in this morning with a look at moisture totals for the month of March.
Dr. Bateson recorded 5.63 inches of precipitation during the month, which is 176% of average.
According to the Doctor, “Last year we had 6.45 inches for a total of 210% of average. March’s precipitation brings our yearly total to 11.71 inches which is 67% of average.”
At this point our yearly total is not as high as last year’s 149% of average, but Bateson notes that it is a lot better than the 13% that we had recorded by the middle of January.
