Dr. Bateson’s Weather Corner: Moisture Totals

Dr. Bateson, our resident meteorological expert, checks in with moisture totals for the month of November and a look at the current level of Eagle Lake.

According to Dr. Bateson we only received .42 inches of precipitation during November.

“That’s only 14% of average for the month and we have dropped from 36% of average for the year down to only 25%,” explains Bateson.

“Eagle lake is still dropping nearly a quarter of an inch per week.  It has lost .72 inches since November 8th and measured last week at 5095.96 feet.”

Last year at this time Bateson’s measurement was 5095.56 feet, 4.8 inches higher, and his records show we have lost 20.64 inches from the surface of the lake since its highest level last spring.
