Close to 50 people attended the first Eagle Lake Nature program, “Snakes at the Lake,” on Saturday, June 15th. A team of researchers from Penn State and Westmont College in Santa Barbara shared their current findings about the Western Garter Snakes at Eagle Lake.
Herpetologists have been studying the snakes at Eagle Lake since the early 1970s looking for evidence of environmental and biological changes and influences to the snake population and other animal populations at Eagle Lake.
Eagle Lake Nature Programs are free and open to all. In addition to the evening programs, there are two Junior Ranger programs, on July 19th and August 1st, at 10:30a.m. at the Eagle Lake Amphitheater.
