A 23 year-old Susanville man was arrested on assault and battery charges, according to a report from the Susanville Police Department, after SPD officers responded to the Diamond Mountain Casino parking lot, October 23rd, on a report of an unconscious male.
According to the department officers arrived at the scene about 1:30 Sunday morning and found a 28-year old Susanville man suffering injuries from an apparent assault. Due to his injuries, officers were unable to interview the subject and he was transported via ambulance to Banner Lassen Medical Center for treatment of a head injury.
Officers contacted witnesses in the area who advised that the victim was in the parking lot when another male subject approached him and struck him in the face, causing him to fall to the ground. The male subject then kicked the victim in the head before fleeing on foot.
On Monday afternoon department personnel arrested Michael Hideo for Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Battery with Serious Bodily Injury. He was transported to the Lassen County Jail and booked on the charges with bail set at $27,500.
The case will be forwarded to the District Attorney for prosecution. There is no further information on the condition of the victim at this time.
