One man is dead and another is in critical condition following an early morning shooting on Martha Street in Susanville.
Officers from the Susanville Police Department were called at around 1:00a.m. Monday morning to a house in the 200 block of Martha Street where a gunshot victim was reportedly requesting assistance.
When police arrived they found one gunshot victim in an unattached garage at the residence. The victim, identified as 33 year-old Susanville resident Nathan Duane Wilson, was suffering from multiple gunshots wounds to the upper torso and was initially transported to Banner Lassen Medical center, then flown to Renown Medical Center in Reno for treatment.
As of Monday afternoon Wilson is listed by the hospital as being in critical condition.
A second apparent gunshot victim was found unresponsive in the alley south of the residence. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his identity is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
“We are in the initial stages of the investigation, and are following up on leads,” said Susanville Chief of Police Tom Downing, “No arrests have been made at this time.”
