
Elchard (Elch) DeLoyd Frazier, 92, of Susanville, California, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026 surrounded by his family.
Elch was born July 12, 1933 in Los Angeles, California as the first child of Edison (Pat) and Alice Frazier. He had two younger siblings Jack and Patricia. After high school Elch served in the Army as a Corporal during the Korean war. After returning from the war he married Norma Joy White on July 22, 1955, a marriage which endured nearly 50 years before her passing. Elch and Norma (Joy) were blessed with two children, son Byron DeLoyd and daughter Lori Helen. Elch had a thirty year career with the Western Auto Supply Company where he retired as an Area Sales Manager.
He loved his family and enjoyed his work, travel, camping, and fishing. He was a man of great integrity and people who knew or met him loved and respected him. Whether it was in personal life or business, when people were in need he was always there willing to help.
Elch is survived by his son Byron and wife Dianne Frazier, and his daughter Lori and husband John Dawson, along with four grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren who lovingly knew him as ‘Old Papa’.
Elch was preceded in death by his wife Joy, his parents Pat and Alice, brother Jack, sister Patricia and his great grand daughter Rachel Anne Dawson.
Elch is interned in the Veteran’s section at Diamond Crest Cemetery in Susanville, California.
