Elementary Students Test Their Knowledge in Geography Bowl

Richmond School had the honor of hosting the 2012 Geography Bowl for elementary school students from Lassen County Wednesday, December 5th.  Students from 5 districts competed in 2 divisions, testing their knowledge of US Geography (4th-5th grades) and World Geography (6th-8th grade).

Diamond View, Meadow View, Shaffer, Richmond and Janesville schools participated in the event.

Overall Winner for 6-8th grades  was Alex Vice of Janesville School. Runner Up for 6 – 8th grades was  Jared Lile of Richmond School.

Winner in grade 6 was  Joseph Crowhurst of  Johnstonville School.

Winner in grade 7  was Hunter Zimmerman of Diamond View  School.

Winner in grade 8 was Collin Westfall of Janesville School

Overall Winner 4-5th grades was Chase Roby of Johnstonville school Runner Up for 4-5th grades was Gabriela Nielsen of Richmond School.

Winner in grade 4 was Brendan Casaurang of Meadow View School.

Winner in grade 5 was A.J. Van Sant of Janesville School.

The MC reader was Sherrie Thornton.  Jeanne Withroe,Karen Ovitz, Margie Lattka, Kris Parnell and Margaret Will  judged the event.
