Elks Lodge and American Legion Partner for Annual Flag Day Celebration at Memorial Park

The Susanville Elks Lodge #1487 and the Thomas Tucker American Legion Post #204 are inviting all Lassen County residents to come together this weekend to ‘celebrate, honor and unite’ for the annual Flag Day celebration. The special event will take place this Sunday, June 14th, beginning at 5:00p.m. at Memorial Park in Susanville.

The evening will begin with a meaningful ceremony dedicated to honoring the history and significance of the Red, White and Blue. Following the presentation, attendees are invited to stay for a free community barbecue featuring hot dogs and hamburgers, offering a perfect opportunity to share a meal with friends, family and neighbors.

In addition to the festivities, organizers will be collecting old, worn or damaged American flags throughout the event. If you have a flag that has seen better days, you are encouraged to bring it along so that the members of American Legion Post #204 can ensure it is retired with the dignity, honor and respect it deserves.

This is a completely free, family-friendly event, and everyone is welcome to attend. It is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our nation’s flag, connect with your neighbors, and show support for our local community.
