Free Caregiver Support Event
Caregivers in Susanville are invited to a Free Caregiver Support Event on August 26th from 2:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. at the Northeastern Rural Health Clinic, located at 1850 Spring Ridge Drive.
The event will feature two sessions led by experienced caregivers Maggie McNamara and Kelsi Halvarson, who have over 35 years of combined experience in caregiver training and support. The sessions are designed to help caregivers manage the emotional and practical challenges of their role.
Session 1: “Help! I’m a Caregiver and I Don’t Know What to Do” provides tools to manage stress and anxiety related to caregiving and offers a list of top resources.
Session 2: “Strength and Resilience in Caregiving” focuses on how to become stronger emotionally and mentally, feel less overwhelmed, and recover from the daily challenges of caregiving.
Resource materials will be provided. The event is sponsored by the PSA2 Area Agency on Aging and funded by a grant from the California Department of Aging.
