Harley’s Hope Project to Host Tribal Outreach Event in Susanville

The Harley’s Hope Project will host a special Tribal Outreach Event on Friday, August 1st, from 9:00a.m. to 3:00p.m., at the Susanville Indian Rancheria Resource Center, located at 735 Joaquin Street.
This important event aims to raise awareness of intellectual and developmental disabilities within tribal communities. Attendees can look forward to a day filled with games, raffles, and lunch.
A key highlight of the event will be the availability of free developmental assessments for behavioral, speech, and occupational therapy for children of all ages. This is a valuable opportunity for parents and guardians to gain insights into their child’s development.
Attendees are encouraged to ask questions about their child’s development, especially if they observe:
- Lack of interactive games like peek-a-boo or pat-a-cake by 12 months.
- Limited to no vocabulary by 24 months.
- Restrictive or repetitive patterns of play, behaviors, or interests.
- Difficulty regulating emotions impacting daily life or school performance.
- Lack of pretend play (superhero, teacher, student, cats, dogs, etc.) by age 4.
Season Goodpasture, Executive Director of Harley’s Hope and a Tribal Member of the Susanville Indian Rancheria, will on hand to answer any questions you have.
Attendees are encouraged to register in advance. For registration and more information, please follow this link, email [email protected], or call (530) 251-6799.
