Lassen Crime Stoppers Fall Fundraiser Raffle

Lassen County Crime Stoppers is making the community safer, one tip at a time. The volunteer organization, which partners with local law enforcement, has seen a successful year, with tips leading to multiple arrests and the recovery of funds and property and now you can help by contributing to Crime Stoppers during their annual Fall Fundraiser.

This year alone, the group received 24 tips—16 by phone and 8 via social media—which resulted in 11 arrests. In return for their help, tipsters received a total of $1,400 in anonymous cash rewards. The group also approved special $1,000 rewards for several high-profile crimes, including the theft of Humane Society donation boxes and a fire at the Memorial Park Grandstand.

Every single dollar that you contribute goes directly to rewards and outreach to help combat crime across the county.

To further its reach, Lassen Crime Stoppers worked with the Susanville Police Department and Susanville Public Works to install 20 new street signs around town. Each sign features the group’s motto, “Crime Doesn’t Pay… but We Do!,” along with the tip line number, 1.530.502.TIPS.

Since its inception in 2016, Lassen Crime Stoppers has awarded over $8,900 to 98 tipsters. Many people submit tips anonymously without ever asking for a reward, simply wanting to help solve a crime.

You can help support Lassen Crime Stoppers by entering to win cool items in their big online Raffle Fundraiser until this Friday, October 3rd at 4:00p.m. Winners will be announced in a live event on the Crime Stoppers’ Facebook page beginning at 1:00p.m., Saturday, October 4th.

A sheet of tickets to enter to win items are $10 each and with each sheet you get 25-chances to win. You can pick which items you want and enter to win multiple items. Let the organization know and they will put your tickets in the basket for that item and announce the winner Saturday afternoon. You do not have to be present to be the raffle winner. Raffle entries end at 4:00p.m., October 3rd.
