The Lassen Youth Culture Camp — Yeetticana O’Tíssi Tipsááyi (“Gather in the Mountains”) will take place this Saturday, August 22nd, at the Volcano Adventure Camp in Lassen Volcanic National Park.
The day-long gathering is open to Native families and anyone interested in learning about and experiencing Indigenous culture, offering an opportunity to connect, learn from one another, and celebrate in the mountains.
Check-in begins at 8:00a.m., with events running through 5:00p.m., and breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided throughout the day.
Participants of all ages can take part in a variety of hands-on cultural activities and demonstrations, including traditional hand games, pine needle basket making, pine nut and acorn processing, flintknapping demonstrations and face painting.
Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or responsible adult at all times.
