FFA Teams Place Well in State Finals at Cal Poly

Cal Poly hosted more than 2,000 high school students from across the state at the annual the California State FFA Finals on May 6th, with students competing in 21 events throughout the day in categories including agronomy, dairy cattle, farm business management, floriculture, forestry, livestock, nursery landscape, marketing, vegetable crops, vet science and welding.

Susanville FFA was the 2nd-high team in Forestry, with John Kegg as 1st-high individual.

The Veterinary Science team was 3rd-high with Kassie Sandborg as 1st-high individual.

Susanville’s Nursery team placed 5th-high and Ag Mechanics was 5th-high team.

The Floral team was ranked as the 9th-high team in their category.
