“At approximately 10:29p.m.,” explains Fire Captain Tom Hernandez, “the department, along with automatic aid from the Susan River Fire Protection District and Cal Fire, responded to a reported structure fire, located at 1911 Second street in Susanville.”
“On arrival of the first-in engine company, heavy smoke and fire were found coming from a vehicle parked in the alley.”
According to Hernandez the first-due engine company performed an aggressive attack on the vehicle, and the adjacent storage shed, and had the fire contained by 10:34p.m.
“The vehicle was a complete loss,” said Hernandez. “The storage shed sustained moderate damage and the fence from the neighboring address sustained some damage.”
Agencies also assisting in the incident were Susanville Police Department, Cal Fire, LMUD and Susan River Fire Protection District.
