Forest Service Announces Prescribed Burn on Logan Mountain

The Eagle Lake Ranger District of the Lassen National Forest is planning on burning hand piles on the east side of Logan Mountain in the Summit DFPZ project, as follows:

  • Descriptive Location: East side of Logan Mountain
  • Legal Location: T32N/10E/Sections 7 & 18
  • Total acreage: 20 acres
  • Ignition is planned: Monday, Dec. 1 – Friday, Dec. 5, 2014
  • Duration of ignition: 1 – 5 days
  • Duration of smoke production: 1-5 days
  • Estimated direction of smoke travel: Varied, depending on conditions.
  • Communities or Smoke Sensitive Areas: The piles are located in a remote area and should not impact any communities or smoke sensitive areas. Smoke might be visible from County Road A1.
