Work to repair the boarding float at the Almanor boat ramp will soon begin according to Lassen National Forest’s Almanor Ranger District.
A contract for repairs has been awarded to Dig It Construction, who will are scheduled to make the repairs between June 2nd and June 16th.
Repairs include replacement of the cable and lengthening of the ramp to provide for better access in low water conditions. The ramp is currently open for use but will be closed for the duration of the repairs.
The Canyon Dam Boat Launch facility is fully functional and will be available for public use during the closure of the Almanor facility.
Forest officials made the decision last fall to remove the boarding float at the Almanor boat ramp because the cable for guiding and anchoring it had deteriorated to an unsafe condition.
