A furniture drive for victims of the January 20th fire that destroyed 20 homes south of Reno is currently underway.
It’s a great way to help and they have made it easy to contribute in a very simple, convenient and non-invasive way. Simply email a photo and a brief description of any furniture items you would like to donate to Jennifer Guthrie at [email protected]. Please include your name and contact info.
Guthrie is in contact with at least 15 families who have lost their homes and she also asks that if you know of families who are in need of furniture you pass that information along to her as well.
Guthrie will collect pictures and descriptions of furniture that is offered and then create a list to distribute to victims of the fire. Your name and contact information will not be included on the itemized list.
The victims can contact Jennifer if they are interested in any of the items, with furniture pick-up arranged by those interested in receiving the items.
These families have to replace everything from dishes to linens to clothing to blankets and any help will be appreciated. There is no cut-off date, but these families are trying to get life somewhat back to normal for their children, so the quicker the better!
